Experimental feature in which couples from three generations deliver the same dialogue in very different contexts.
For this three-part experimental feature, Skolimowski and Czechoslovak directors Peter Solan (Before Tonight is Over) and Zbyněk Brynych (The Fifth Horseman is Fear) each took exactly the same dialogue but staged their individual contributions with people from different generations, with outwardly identical lines taking on unexpected new meanings in different contexts. Skolimowski directed the first part, involving a twentysomething couple played by his wife Joanna Szczerbic and Jean-Pierre Léaud. It’s screening with the shorts Little Hamlet (Hamleś, 1960), The Menacing Eye (Oko wykol, 1960), Your Money or Your Life (Pieniądze albo życie, 1961) and Erotic (Erotyk, 1961) which Skolimowski made at the Łódź Film School and which reveal an instinctive film sense that was almost fully formed from the start.
